Peter Levy, Managing Director @ BCIC
We asked Peter~ ‘What was it that lead you to seek our services? What was your challenge’?
“Our challenge was a desire for alignment and transparency around our objectives. We had started to implement OKRs after doing our own reading and research. In practise it is more difficult than we initially anticipated so we reached out for some external help from the experts – we needed practical help from someone with experience.”
We asked Peter~ ‘What work did we do together’?
“You helped us to incorporate OKR coaching into our business plan. Helping us to integrate and define strategic goals and correctly implement then into our OKRs. We got a lot of invaluable help in defining and crafting our OKRs and setting up the framework to monitor and work with them. The training and skills acquisition with our internal OKR champion was a great help; it has helped embed the methodology into our internal operations.”
We asked Peter~ ‘What outcomes were achieved? What was the impact on growth’?
“It’s too early to give an overview on the impact on our business. What we have seen, and something which was important to us, was that people have a much clearer idea of the business priorities and the transparency we were looking for is working.”
We asked Peter~ ‘What would you say to someone like yourself, facing the same challenge you had’?
“I’d definitely advise people to read as much as possible. There are a lot of different ideas and advice on ways to implement OKRs – but you need to figure out what works for your organisation; this is key to their success. OKRs are trickier to implement than they initially seem, and something as simple as the way things are worded can make a huge difference. I’d say to get maximum velocity and fewer errors early on in the process it would be good to get advice from the experts. I’ve already recommended There Be Giants and will continue to do so”.
